1988
In 1988 after it was revealed that there was a need for young people on the Bellarine Peninsula to have access to the performing arts, The Bellarine Jongleurs Theatre Company was established by Lorraine Hall and Marie Brown (deceased). The aim of the company was to provide the opportunity for young people to be involved in the performing arts without the hassle of having to travel into Geelong, a journey of 20 minutes. The company was originally created for teenagers aged 11 to 17 years.
With demand growing for a younger age group the B.J.s group was established to cater for children aged 5 to 11 year, with this the Jongleurs changed to focus on children aged 12 to 17 years.

2004
In 2004 the adult group Jesters decided they wished to branch out into different forms of theatre, not catered for in the Jongleurs constitution. As a result the name Jesters has been dissolved with this group moving on to other horizons. In their place a new young adult group has been formed with the title of Blunt Production. So far this group has tackled some plays which deal with quite difficult issues. i.e. Blackrock (Murder, coverups, suicide etc.).
2008
In 2008 Bellarine Jongleurs Inc. was still going strong after 20 years. We celebrated with a reunion dinner and continue to go from strength to strength with full.
2012
Unfortunately since 2012 it has been very difficult to find a choreographer to take on responsibility for Body Junction and so this arm of the Jongleurs has been disbanded.
2013
Minimum age limit introduced for the B.J.s group due to the large number of members.
2017
The decision was made to reduce the number of groups & change the entry age conditions.
2018
Our main objective is to encourage our members to expand their own creativity and to build their self-esteem within an enjoyable and safe environment.
